Covers DO Matter!

April 14, 2010

I’m not going to say you can judge a book by its cover, but certainly a good cover goes a long way towards getting a book off the shelf and into a reader’s hands.  Case in point:  the new YA edition of Wuthering Heights.  All eight of our copies are checked out and there is one hold. Compare that to an older edition that has five copies sitting on the shelf.  My point being, just because a book is a classic, that doesn’t guarantee its circulation.  So feel free to weed older, dated editions so that we can replace them with updated, inviting editions!  (FYI: the new edition is the one that looks like a Twilight cover!)
